It's not a scam - you only pay for the time you spend there (8p per minute atm) but don't get mistaken - this is not the place to grab a lunch or a dinner, this is a place to meetup with a lot friends, colleagues (to play board games, or to have a business meeting), and have unlimited access to snacks.
