Great place to work. Parking is sometimes a challenge. Still given everything, it is just a wonderful place.
This is a long review, because I love this place. If you've got somewhere to be, skip to the end.
Obviously, there are amenities like a nice conference room, really fast wifi, storage for your stuff, and a big 'ol fridge with an ice and water dispenser like when we were kids. 24/7 access like a boss and super fun office supplies, like all the post-its you can handle and an assortment of pre-owned pens, and a paper cutter just in case.
Parking isn't grrrreat...but it's not as bad as it could be in the Short North. Maybe once or twice a week you will need to park at a meter, depending on what time you start work. Not close to a deal breaker for me.
Basically, it's got any creature comfort, and then some, that you could ask for in an office space.
But just as importantly, it's a place that the owners are always working on improving. It's behind the scenes, so it's not sexy or ostensibly marketable, but believe me, it makes a difference if you're going to spend a couple thousand hours in a place. Bob and Nils ask for feedback, and if it's in their power to fix what's buggin you, they will.
It's a tiny thing, but here's part of an email they sent a couple weeks ago: "Next time you're in the kitchen you will find a commercial-grade grinder to compliment the drip coffee service. The grinder is pre-measured to dispense exactly the quantity needed to make a whole pot...No more scooping, less mess, faster brewing. That's the focus of this upgrade."
You'll also likely find people to fit in somehow with your business (or you into theirs). In the two and half years I was at the Perch, I either hired or did paying work for seven different people or business working directly under that roof. Probably twice that if you go one degree of separation. I imagine that most businesses there would report similarly.
TL;DR
-all the amenities and then some
-better-than-adequate parking
-owners who want to keep making The Perch better than the day before
-good people to get work from and give work to
An easy five stars.
This is by far the best shared workspace in Columbus, and it's in the heart of the Short North! It is filled with creative and talented people, and it is great for collaboration. Highly recommend.
Fantastic shared office pace in the heart of Columbus. It's great being surrounded by such talented people every day!
A cool space with a bunch of fun creatives...what more can you ask
