Great place to get stuff done and meet a few expats and locals too. They picked me up late from the airport and brought me straight to my lovely clean/big room. I have to say it's fun to just wake up in the morning, cruise downstairs to find a bunch of people working, order an espresso and get to business. I found it attracted tech/IT start-up types and a few marketing/social media nomads. They had fast reliable internet 24/7. Everyone is quite nice there and I found the family-style lunches to be quite charming. Also it's right next to the main nightlife attractions if you're looking to balance work and play.
I enjoyed my time at AngkorHub. The internet was fast (40+ Mbps) and the people friendly. They just finished renovation this month, so it's more spacious now! I didn't live there as I found cheaper options nearby, but if you want to save the hassle of finding accommodation and settling in Siem Reap, AngkorHub can be a great place to live. $28/day for the private room, including your co-working fee and two meals. Printing was easy too. Home cooked food was tasty. They were very accommodating, always took the time to cook separate vegetarian dishes if the food was not vegetarian that day. The only drawback with the food is that it's not always healthy, albeit usually tasty. It can be greesy (French fries etc.) But even when that happens, you can easily walk down the street for 2 minutes to find delicious and healthy food. The location is superb! The aircon is not always turned on, it was on on my 5th day there because it was crazy humid hot that afternoon. Sitting outside on a scorching March afternoon may not stimulate your productivity, but early in the morning it's pretty comfortable to work outside. Free entry for ladies on the international woman's day! Thumb up :) It's definitely more transient than Chiang Mai, but it lacks the competitiveness that Chiang Mai's digital nomad scene has, definitely a more relaxed and more friendly place. No pressure to be a social butterfly at all, which again, is pretty pronounced in CM.
I've been here two times. Internet was good and I got work done here. For $5 a day you get to use the Skype room too (even though I never used it because someone else was always using it). I liked the garden with the hammock a lot. However, I didn't give it 5 stars because 1. people smoked in the outdoor area where I was working, and there was no policy to ban smoking in working area. That was annoying as hell 2. I couldn't work indoors to avoid the smoke because there was no space and no aircon 3. lots of mosquitos in the outdoor working space. I used their mosquito squatter and it helped me, but it's too much of a pain for me to use this space :(
I stayed at the Hub for one week and it was awesome. Fast internet, laid back environment, great food. Jeff and Samdy are super cool, and so were the people that were staying and that came by to work during the day. Thanks AngkorHub!
A work-based oasis of calm, nestled in the centre of Siem Reap. Fast internet, cheap but decent coffee, fans and air-con, indoor seating, outdoor seating, free water, and a fridge filled with crisp, delicious, ice-cold beer. What more could one want?! But wait... there's more! A 'pop up pub', regular events and a lovely home-cooked, filling lunch for only two of your Earth Dollars. The quality of the food is excellent, and only surpassed by the beauty of the chef that lovingly creates it on a daily basis. The space is usually pretty quiet, with everyone keeping themselves to themselves, but people spring into conversation as soon as lunch is served... so you have the opportunity to get your head down and get some work done, but also connect with the group and make new friends when it's time to down tools and recharge the batteries. The monthly cost is very reasonable, and a lot cheaper than most coworking options in South East Asia. Rooms are also available if you're looking to co-live as well as co-work. The owner Jeff is a great guy. I haven't quite figured out how he can wear jeans every day in the Cambodian heat, but he manages to pull it off somehow. He'll keep you right if you need any help or info on the local area. I give AngkorHUB my seal of approval... and you should too. Peace out.
